About Us

ABC Lasers was established in November 1984, initially trading as Downs Equipment Sales and Hire. Possessing extensive technical experience and knowledge of the Construction, Earthmoving and Agricultural Industries, founders Mike and Anne Forrest created a highly successful operation, servicing the Darlings Downs region in Queensland. This technical expertise combined with additional sales and marketing skills, saw the business grow to encompass the whole of Queensland, Northern NSW, Papua New Guinea and areas of South East Asia. Changes in Distribution arrangements constituted the relocation to Brisbane and the new name - ABC LASERS.

In 1995, ABC Lasers was appointed the Topcon distributors for Queensland and Papua New Guinea. 1997 saw Mike Forrest sell the business to enable him to travel to the USA where he took up position as Sales and Marketing Manager for Topcon Laser Systems in California. On his return in 1999, Mike has re-commenced as Managing Director of ABC Lasers with even more expertise in the field of Automating Earthmoving Equipment. In August 1999, ABC Lasers was appointed Topcon distributors for their total Survey and Civilcad range, giving ABC Lasers a complete range of product to service the entire Construction & Surveying Industries.
